Many people possess a wide range of talents and inclinations, but are unable to cultivate a sense of purpose. As a result they tend to squander their energies in all directions and will sometimes put off making valuable commitments. This is the true meaning behind the old expression; "sowing wild oats", the the folly of growing a weed instead of cultivating a valuable grain.
Using wild oat in the form of essential oils or floral waters can help bring inner clarity to these types of personality. A lack of clarity about what to do with one's abilities can often be associated with a lack of personal confidence in making decisions. This wonderful herb, or grass strengthens this confidence and reduces sensitivity to outside influences. It can also be very helpful for a "midlife" crisis, when people may feel they've missed something or chosen the wrong path in life. Wild oat essence is indicated for people who cannot seem to choose a focus from their many interests and inclinations. It can also promote feelings and actions of a calmer more clear certainty.
Start by blending 2-3 drops of the essence with an ounce of purified water and ingest 4-5 drops of the mixture 4 times daily. It should be noted that fresh, small batches are more preferred over large ones.
Power to the Flower of Wild Oat!

The Power of the Mind
The practice of using focused mental images and sensory perceptions to affect the health and well being can be traced to the traditional healing arts in both Egypt and India, however Western medicines did not seem to take imagery very seriously until the 1070s when some American doctors began using imagery to support medical treatment for cancer patients. The results were impressive; The patients who visualized successful cancer treatment and the ability to return to good health were found more likely to be able to feel better quicker and live longer than those patients who did not "see themselves doing so." Since then, studies have documented that such body functions as heart rate and blood pressure respond to mental images. Just as your moth waters when you think of a lemon, or your pulse quickens with the thought of a stressful event, you can also affect other body responses. Imagery can help you to boost immunity, manage pain and ease stress; these, in turn, can benefit a wide range of health conditions.
Mental imagery has a profound effect on the hypothalamus in the brain, this is the gland that controls the nervous and endocrine systems. Since those systems regulate such body functions as blood flow, heart rate, blood pressure, brain waves and the release of chemicals and hormones in the body, mental images can affect all of those functions. Imagery can help produce a state of calm, decrease pain and enhance immunity.
Imagery can be very eeffective for depression, pain, anxiety, headaches, asthma, skin ailments, immune disorders, high blood pressure, allergies, fatigue, menstrual and menopausal problems and cancers.
Below are some simple steps for successful imagery:
1. Set clear goals for yourself. Break down large goals into small, manageable steps. Develop ideas and methods to move from one step to the next.
2. Create a precise image of one of your goals in great detail, as if it has already become a reality. See yourself basking in the happiness and success of having already realized your dream.
3. Concentrate on your image. Set aside 15-20 minutes at least once a day, but try for twice a day to visualize your dream. Fill it with details, until a mental movie is playing before your eyes every time you think about it.
4. Engage all of your senses. To make your imagery even more vivid, ask yourself the following questions;
A. What aromas are associated with my goals?
B. What are the temperatures and weather?
C. What skin and body sensations do I feel?
D. What sounds do I hear?
E. What flavors do I taste?
F. Am I motivated to be happy in these circumstances?
It is best to clearly define what you want to change in your life, on both a physical as well as an emotional level. Then develop some mental images along with sensations, sounds, smells and tastes that will suit or harmonize with those needs.
Healing my be defined as a miraculous unfolding of the consciousness for one's being in the world. When we learn who we are, what and who really matter to us and how to properly express ourselves is when the ultimate healing journey begins. It is a slow passage and should be a unique journey for each individual. It can be filled with risk, triumph, danger, and joy which when nurtured will grow into peace, trust, awe, reverence, love and tenderness. Tapping into the deeper levels of our intelligences we connect with our greateer sense of wholeness/wellness.

An Amazing Tropical Grass
Cymbopogon Flexuosus is the botanical name for species of Lemongrass from Western India that is used to make Essential Oil. Lemongrass has long been an important part of the traditional Indian Medicine known as Ayurvedic. This amazing oil is both cooling and stimulating to the body as well as the mind. It has powerful antibacterial and analgesic properties (pain relieving) which makes it a useful remedy for bruised muscles and ligament tissue that has suffered trauma. Lemongrass has the ability to also support the digestion as well as helping to regenerate connective tissues and ligaments. It dilates the blood vessels and strengthens vascular walls. Another great thing about Lemongrass is that it has the ability to promote lymph flow, creating proper fluid motion and it will reduce inflammation. Lemongrass has anti-fungal properties. Many use Lemongrass to help promote psychic awareness and purification, it can create the innocent perspective of a child while helping to express great wisdom. When used with Myrrh, it will promote growth and positive changes both spiritually and physically.
A wonderful furniture polish that is effective and completely non-toxic to both people and animals is to blend 3 Tablespoon of apricot seed oil and about 10 drops of Lemongrass Essential Oil together
A green, non-toxic insect repellent recipe is to blend 4 drops each of Lemongrass, Cedarwood and Geranium Essential Oils together in 1 ounce of vodka which can then be sprayed liberally throughout the home or office without damaging furniture or plants.
The fresh, ciruslike fragrance of Lemongrass Essential Oil can dispel stale air such as cigarette smoke, pet odors and unpleasant kitchen scents. Try combining with Essential Oil of Lime, Lemon and Tangerine for a clean, crisp aroma that will improve and invigorate the air quality in any room.
TAKE CARE! Because of its high citral content, Essential Oil of Lemongrass may increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid being in the sun for about 6 hours after using Lemongrass on the skin. If you have been diagnoised with glaucoma DO NOT use this oil at all.

Patient but Potent, Patchouli Oil
Patchouli, with its pungent aroma, was popular in the 1960s among the "hippy" or "peace and love generation. Found in most of the common buring incense of that time period, Patchouli was believed to stimulate the dreaming brain and open the door to sweet and exotic visions. Many people used this pungent aroma to cover up the smells of other burning "herbs"! Unfortunatly, many people think that they do not like the smell of Patchouli because of some of these various reasons but I have found that when I introduce them to a pure form of the Essential Oil of Patchouli they are pleasantly surprised. This is because most burning incense of Patchouli is a synthetic form, meaning that it is a chemical reproduction or at least a simple fragrance grade oil that can include solvents and additives during the distilling process.
Pure, theraputic grade Essential Oil of Patchouli has as many uses as it has characteristic scents. It can be described as musty, exotic, spicy, sweet, earthy as well as sensuous. This herb is native to Southeast Asia and has a wide range of effects on the body.
Patchouli can be very effective against athlet's foot fungi and because of it's therapeutic properties is is wonderful for aiding in skin care. This wonderful oil can relieve sore, cracked and allergy-inflamed skin, helping to keep the skin toned while also helping to regenerate injured skin tissue. This pungent oil loves to play nice with sweet almond oil, rose hip seed oil and extra virgin olive oil.
Patchouli oil can be mentally energizing and yet it does not overstimulate the body physically. It simply releases neurotransmitters that help the Amygdala (in the brain) control your moods and feelings of general well being. Patchouli is also a good "grounding" oil, with its woodsy, earthy scent, it is no wonder that Patchouli oil has a reputation for keeping us centered, focused and in touch with our true feelings. It helps to keep our feet firmly planted on the proverbial ground.
To help tone and firm the skin, add 3-4 drops of Essential Oil of Patchouli to 1 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar, to 2 Cups of warm water. Stir gently and moisten a cotton pad in the liquid and generously apply to your face in the morning and in the evening after your normal cleansing routine. Leave the mixture on to air dry.

Set Your Affections On Things Above
It is very important as human beings to remember that holding on to painful memories is not being true to your personal self worth. Our spirits are designed to be present in the now! We want and need only the freshest and most valid information, the input that is uplifting and full of encouragement. When this type of input is readily available to us we are then able to efficiently find answers to our question and solutions to our problems.
Think about it. When we take the time to do anything worth while we seek for the best, right? To create an amazing meal we need the freshest ingredients, when writing a research paper we look for the newest most reliable sources of information.
Finding joy in everyday living should be the exact same formula. Look at the now, see the cup as half full instead of half empty. Listen only to those thoughts and feelings that are full of reliable truth about who you are and what you want to accomplish in your life.
By setting your affections on things above you are always looking up! Um something for me to think about.

The Limitless Essential Oil of Lemon
Used to treat colds, flues and other infections, essential oil of lemon can also be a great help in digestive upset and poor appetite. Essential oil of Lemon helps to activate the immune system and will promote blood as well as proper lymph circulation.
Every herb or essential oil can be said to transmit a "message" to the psyche and lemon oil is no exception. The clean, fresh message of Lemon is "I am here to bring sunshine back into your life!" This wonderful, aromatic fragrance generally clears the mind and helps to banish gloomy thoughts. Lemon oil can help to dispel fatigue by improving circulation and strengthen the body, especially after an illness. Mixing 3 drops of the essential oil in 1 teaspoon of agave nectar or honey and then ingesting every morning is a great way to use this wonderful oil.
After a long hard day at the office, or school give yourself 30 minutes to unwind and relax by blending 1-2 drops of lemon with 1 drop of peppermint or spearmint essential oil in a cup of cool water. Dip a cloth into the mixture. Lie down and drape the compress across your forehead and temples. BE CAREFUL to NOT allow mixture to come in contact with the eyes. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Within that 30 minutes you should begin to feel refreshed and renewed.
Adding a 3 drops of lemon and 1 drop of peppermint to a 24oz bottle of pure water is a great way to aid in digestion as well as gently cleanse the liver and help balance the production of bile.
Essential oil of Lemon can also be a great additive to dishwater. Add about 10 drops to 1 oz of distilled white vinegar, then add the mixture to your dishwater or even your dishwasher. The lemon-vinegar mixture works especially well to cut grease on glasses and the kitchen will have a great uplifting aroma.
TAKE CARE! When the skin is exposed to direct sunlight, lemon oil has been known to cause pigment spots. Therefore, use caution! Do not use lemon oil or toiletries containing citrus essential oils within 6 hours of exposureto the sun.

The Sampson of the Vitamin Kingdom
So here is a note that I posted on my facebook account a year ago. True then, equally true now!
The Sampson of the Vitamin Kingdom
The humble yet powerful vitamin C is sometimes over-rated and yet more often over-looked as a valuable and necessary part of every person’s life. The biological effect of vitamin C only lasts for about six hours and so we need to constantly be replenishing this essential vitamin. Most people know that inadequate body levels of vitamin C can cause scurvy causing bleeding under the skin, bruising, bleeding and swollen gums, anemia and general weakness and many people know that higher levels of vitamin C can help in the prevention of colds and flu as well as elevating the body’s ability to fight cancer. But very few people seem to understand that the body needs extra vitamin C to help accelerate the healing of wounds both accidental and surgical. Vitamin C will help detoxify from certain drugs and other harmful chemicals such as nitrites. Vitamin C helps in the formation of natural steroid hormones, it utilizes iron in the body and helps to regulate the metabolism of cholesterol. This fantastic vitamin helps to maintain normal brain activity for good mental health and memory functions. Most people know that stressful conditions over a period of time will create dangerous body reactions, but adequate levels of vitamin C will help the body deal with stressful conditions.
Keep in mind that smoking can severely deplete your vitamin C levels, as will the use of aspirin, antibiotics, cortisone drugs and oral contraceptives. Your diet and lifestyle can also affect your vitamin C body levels. It has been shown that individuals use up their body’s store of vitamin C much faster when confronted by disease or distress and the resulting lowered body levels of this vitamin seem to aggravate any existing illness or anxiety which will then cause a vicious cycle.
Many scientists question the adequacy of the recommended amounts for the average person because of increasing environmental issues which cause high levels of physical and mental stress. They feel that much larger doses are necessary to combat these issues. One symptom of doses that are too high would be extremely loose bowels, unexplained rashes, reoccurring headaches and possible insomnia.
What then is the function of vitamin C in the body? Just as red blood cells carry oxygen to the individual cells of the body, so vitamin C carries hydrogen which is a substance necessary for the proper burning of our foodstuffs and this vitamin is necessary for the health of our connective tissues, the substance which binds all the individual cells together, composes cartilages, veins, ligaments and so forth. If this substance is not in good repair, many disastrous consequences may result. Vitamin C also helps form collagen, which in turns strengths blood vessel walls.
The precious minerals such as calcium and phosphorus which our body needs for so many functions are stored in our bones until they are needed. If not enough vitamin C is present, the tissues of this storage place will not retain the minerals and they are then lost to us.
Finally, vitamin C is a powerful agent against the infections that constantly plague us. An individual who gets over and above his daily quota of this vitamin will not be subject to as many infections.
The recommended dosage for an average adult is 1,000 mg. daily & the daily recommended dosage for a child is 60 to 100 mg.
Essential Oils that are high in vitamin C or that help the body to absorb this powerful vitamin are those in the citrus families, as well as the rose family. Most of these oils can be used internally, like lemon, grapefruit, sweet orange and rose hip
